KeyShot feels sluggish on Laptop

When launching KeyShot on a Windows computer you can sometimes run into the OpenGL 1.1 found but need OpenGL 2.0+ error. There are also times with issues where KeyShot feels sluggish while working within it the software. There is something that you can try to help with this.

Setting preferred GPU for apps using Settings.

  1. Open Settings on Windows.
  2. Click on System.
  3. Click on Display.
  4. Under the “Multiple displays” section, click the Graphics settings option.
  5. Select the app type using the drop-down menu:
    1. Classic app - traditionally installed desktop programs.
    2. Microsoft app - app installed through Microsoft Store.
  6. If you select “Classic app” you will need to click the Browse button to locate the keyshot.exe file.
    1. Installed Just for Me - Location: copy %localappdata%\KeyShot11\bin
    2. Installed for everyone - Location C:\Program Files\KeyShot11\bin
  7. Click the Add button.
    1. Select keyshot.exe and click add.
  8. Click on the Options button.
  9. Set the graphics preference to High performance.
  10. Click the Save button.

Note: Once you have done this you should be able to open KeyShot and it should allow it to open KeySHot.
